Cal Poly Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor, Anurag Pande, has been selected as a STEM-NET faculty fellow for the 2024-25 academic year. This prestigious fellowship supports faculty in advancing research and scholarship in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
The STEM-NET Fellows program provides funding to promote collaborative efforts aimed at securing large external grants aligned with the network’s mission. As part of this role, Pande is focused on fostering interdisciplinary research and proposal development among STEM faculty.
Pande’s initiatives as a faculty fellow will emphasize areas such as technical research, pedagogy, and community outreach. Additionally, his role as Cal Poly’s faculty liaison for service learning will enable him to support STEM faculty engaged in community-based pedagogy and research projects.
The fellowship marks another milestone in Pande’s distinguished career at Cal Poly. Earlier this year, he was recognized as the Campus Faculty Sustainability Champion (2024) and received the Educator of the Year Award from the Institute of Transportation Engineers Western District at their annual meeting in Sacramento, California.
Through this fellowship, Pande aims to strengthen collaboration and innovation within the STEM community, further advancing Cal Poly’s mission of “Learn by Doing.”
