The Cal Poly College of Engineering continues to make its mark as a national leader, securing top honors in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings. In specialty program rankings, Cal Poly’s Civil Engineering program earned the prestigious No. 1 ranking — moving up from its previous No. 2 spot, affirming its position as the nation’s best. This recognition reflects the program’s commitment to hands-on, Learn by Doing education and its dedication to producing engineers equipped to tackle real-world challenges.
Alongside Civil Engineering, Cal Poly celebrated several other high-ranking programs:

Cal Poly’s Civil Engineering program is continuing to excel on the national platform as they gear up to host the ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships in June 2025, an event that will bring together over 500 students and faculty from around the world for a weekend of competition, networking, and collaboration. This event provides our students with the perfect platform to not only demonstrate their skills and talents, but also their creativity and passions.
