Providing students with direct access to industry leaders and career opportunities is a top priority for our department. This January, we successfully hosted two exclusive career fairs aimed at connecting students with internships and full-time positions: the CE/ENVE Career Fair, held on January 10th, and the Industrial Partnership Career Fair, held on January 24th.
Organized by ASCE and SENVE, the CE/ENVE Career Fair brought together a diverse range of companies specializing in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Employers from top firms such as Kimley Horn, Stantec, Granite Construction, and Cannon, engaged with students, offering valuable insights into industry trends and hiring needs. Many students obtained interviews and networking experience, leading to internship and job offers that will shape their professional journeys well before graduation.
Two weeks later, the Industrial Partnership Career Fair continued the momentum, featuring many of our Industrial Partners. This event allowed students to explore various career options across engineering firms, including roles in consulting, construction, sustainability, and infrastructure development. Representatives from leading organizations actively recruited students, reinforcing the department’s high success rate in facilitating career placements.
These career fairs are designed to maximize student exposure to employers, giving them a competitive edge in the job market. By hosting career fairs, we ensure that our students have ample opportunities to network, gain industry knowledge, and secure internships and jobs well before graduation. The success of these events highlights our commitment to student career development and our strong industry partnerships.
