Internal Scholarships

Department scholarship applications for 2019/20 are closed.

Numerous scholarships are available through Cal Poly, the College of Engineering and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Criteria include financial need, scholastic achievement, participation in school activities, community service, honors and organizational affiliations, and educational objectives.

FAFSA - All students (that would like to be considered for a need-based scholarship) must complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for CENG and CE/ENVE scholarships. For priority consideration for financial aid programs and Cal Poly scholarships, complete the FAFSA by March 2. For more information, click here.

Cal Poly Scholarship Application - To be considered for any of the Cal Poly University, College of Engineering, or Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering awards, you must complete the university application.  You only need to complete the one application to apply for all available internal scholarships. We recommend applying by June 1st to ensure full consideration.

UG Chevron Environmental Education ENVE $1,800 2.5 Evidence of serious interest/commitment to environmental issues during course of college education through achievement in the sciences or community activities, involving awareness of environmental issues such as air & water pollution, resource depletion, waste disposal and/or recycling, alternative technologies or environmental education.

Any CE/ENVE Advisory Board Professional Advancement Award CE/ENVE Various N/A To a full-time student judged on efforts to prepare his or her self for a professional career in engineering including but not limited to participation in professional organizations, work experience, and community service.
Sr Hal and Judy Cota Award ENVE $300 N/A

To senior-level students in the ENVE program who demonstrate an interest in community public health or industrial safety and hygiene. The student must have financial need and have received a grade of B+ or better in the following three courses in the ENVE: a course in noise control or the equivalent, advanced course in air pollution control, advanced course in hazardous waste.

The research work shall have been performed by a student and should be on a topic related to nondestructive testing (NDT) of concrete. Research must focus on or possibly lay the foundation for the development of an NDT method for concrete.
