Concrete Canoe

2017-2018 Concrete Canoe Team at National Competition

About Cal Poly Concrete Canoe

The Cal Poly Concrete Canoe Team designs, produces and races a canoe made out of concrete every school year. The concrete is designed according to rules and regulations that change from year to year. Students work as a team throughout the year and compete at the regional Pacific Southwest Conference in the Spring

In June 2019, the Cal Poly team traveled to Florida for The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) National Concrete Canoe Competition. The team earned 1st place in the Final Product of their canoe, Yggdrasil. Cal Poly's current 5 National Championships ties the all time record for most championships by a single university.

We've launched an endowment to support this tradition for years to come.

By supporting this endowment, you are sustaining our concrete canoe team’s excellence and building the next generation of engineers.
