Cindy Sevilla Esparza Internship Spotlight
Recent environmental engineering graduate, Cindy Sevilla Esparza is interning for the Wastewater Collection Systems sector of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County! A large portion of her job involves visiting the 46 pumping plants the district oversees and documenting their different parts. With her gathered information, Cindy is compiling a more accessible database that will help current and future employees.
“I am really enjoying my experience so far. The team of engineers I work with are all very friendly and have a wide range of knowledge. I also enjoy that they all have very diverse backgrounds in terms of work experience, education, and interests so I have received a lot of great advice for my future career endeavors.”
In the fall, Cindy will return to Cal Poly to start her master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering through our department's blended program. She will be researching the degradation of emerging contaminants by advanced oxidation under Dr. Rebekah Oulton.
