Alumni Spotlight: Tom Trible
We have a new Alumni Spotlight! Tom Trimble, a Cal Poly alumni, graduated in 1992 with a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering. During his time at Cal Poly, he was a member of the Society of Civil Engineers Club, played various intramural sports, and attended every music concert he could. Immediately after graduating, he received an entry-level position at Kiewit and has been working for Kiewit for almost 30 years. As Area Manager, he works on estimating and building all sorts of infrastructure construction projects ranging from highways, water, and wastewater treatment plants, to power plants.
One notable project of his was when he worked on Highway 140 in Yosemite National Park from 1998 to 2001, which was Kiewit’s first design-build construction project in Northern California. In addition to that, when Tom worked for Kiewit’s rail division from 2014 to 2017, he was involved with building light rail projects in Honolulu, Los Angeles, Seattle, Fremont, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City, El Paso, Milwaukee, Washington DC, Arlington, VA, and Toronto.
Tom is a perfect example of a Cal Poly alumni who continues to learn and grow within his profession; “I obtained my Civil PE License from the state of Georgia in 2020. It's never too late for life-long learning!”
